I just got back from dinner with my wife and mother-in-law

ah. cool

We went out to celebrate the birthday of my late father-in-law

oh nice

he would've been 81 today!

wow

So, in his honor, I had this seafood and pasta combination that he always liked called zupa de pesce, I believe it's called!

mmm. now I'm hungry. lol

it's linguini, with a white garlic and butter sauce with clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops covering it up!!!

yum!

man, it was enormous! I couldn't eat 1/3 of it! Had to bring the rest home!!!

anyway, how are things with you and SOD?

yeah, many places serve such huge portions

worked on some of it last night

once I get past tightening up this gun fight panel, I'll finish inking pg. 12 real quick

I've gotten out of my publication slump I was in for a little while since SPACE...I've got 6 mini comics, 1 comic book and now a fiction mag done!

sounds like DOC won't be at SPACE next year

Marc Haines did what he could for awhile but he has less hours now to help out with things, but he's doing my comic books and comic mags still...

he was stressed by feeling obligated to owe people art and stuff

I like to give people opportunities to see their work in print, but not if it's going to make them suffer to get it to me by the deaadline!

But,if someone takes up the assignment, they should know right then and there if they can accomplish such a thing in that given space of time

what I don't care for is a person who gives me a days notice prior to a deadline that they can't get it done or haven't even started it yet! LOL...

This weekend at the new venue for SPACE is a great show called PULPFEST or PULPCON, I believe...I wish I was going to that show, but alas, I'm working!!!

I'm there in spirit though as some dealer bought a huge back issue run of my Doc Savage fanzine just to sell there!

Currently I'm trying to adjust to my books being printed by Ka-Blam

how's that going so far?

My first book by them was BOOT HILL #2

The paper and overall quality is quite nice but you really got to watch those specs closely or you get a trim job really close to the sides...

it wasn't too bad, but just makes you more carefull...

I also like the set-up they have with their distribution arm, Indy Planet!
